The most adorable scowler

by Jessie K on May 23, 2012

I give you….June’s signature expression: the scowl.

Here she scowls because I made her way this goofy hat.

The baby on the left? The one smiling? Not mine.

“Can we go now?”

This scowl is by far my favorite: The Don’t-Mess-With-Me-Santa face.  Ha!

I love you, June!  You make me laugh everyday.

These photos of June scowling remind me of photos taken of the pre-kindergarten me. I often looked cranky or like I was squinting into the sun. Turns out I was squinting in an effort to see better. I got my first pair of eyeglasses in kindergarten. My favorite photo of me NOT scowling before getting glasses is of a me being quite delighted, I’m looking at a children’s book… the book is upside down. I’m far-sighted. Not saying June needs corrective lenses, but just a thought to consider.

Hmmm…well, she does come from a long line of glasses wearers, so maybe I should have her vision inspected. Thanks for the tip!

The santa picture just kills me…..you can just see the invisible ‘force field’ being drawn up around her…..she’s a doll!

That’s what it is! A FORCE FIELD! I was trying to come up with a way to describe what was going on there. Ha ha ha!

She is sweet, there is likely a very thoughtful girl behind those “looks”.

I love the nose wrinkle. It says so much!

You’d scowl too if you had pupils the size of saucers. The world is TOO BRIGHT!

My brother and I suffered the same curse. Mom complained that we both had frown lines on our foreheads before we were teenagers, AND that she couldn’t look at our eyes for any sign of drug use because our pupils were naturally too large.

God she is killing me. This face runs in our family, too, but we call it the stink face.
