Country Living magazine has a fun story in their current issue about off-the-beaten-path summer travel. They asked their favorite bloggers in each state to suggest a favorite non-obvious place and garsh, was I honored to be included.
The first place that popped into my head Wade’s Mill in Raphine, Virginia. I’ve written about Wade’s Mill before, but their flour is THE BEST. The 250 year old mill is in such a picturesque, pastoral setting, you really feel like you’re in “the country” when you’re there. Plus owners Jim and Georgie Young are characters in their own right. You can check out the article here. Just in time for Stateside summer travel planning.

Well, since no one commented on this I will. People in your area who haven’t visited the mill don’t know what they are missing. I have a bag of spoonbread mix from the mill in my freezer from when we visited the area. I have used up my flour and need to get back there soon. I live 9 hours away so it isn’t a quick trip.
