Last night I had the privilege of giving a book signing up in Baltimore in Jake’s old neighborhood for my book Rurally Screwed. A lot of old friends and family were present, which I owe to Jake’s mom, who may or may not have put a gun to the head of everyone who showed up. It was such a great night. I met a lot of amazing people. The only part of the evening that caught me off guard were these loud ripping noises coming from the peanut gallery in the back. I found out later it was my four year old nephew Micah wildly cutting the cheese.
Guess we know what he thought of my book.

So glad it went well! Looks like quite an event!
I just finished your book and finished reading your blog from beginning to end. I even found myself pursuing your fathers blog but decided I might be mistaken for a stalker and quit. I enjoyed your book very, very much. You are a wonderful writer. Thanks for giving me a chance to take a tiny peek into your romance with Jake and your life together. I recommend the book and blog highly.
Thank you, Paula! And I know my dad will be tickled that you checked out his site. Ha ha!
Hi, Jessie,
This is totally off the subject, but while I’m so happy for you and the success of your (great!) book, I was saddened yesterday to learn that your dad is “folding up his tent.” Please tell him that this faithful reader checked his blog every day — and now apologizes for not sending lots of grateful comments!
Jessie,
Really enjoyed the event on Thursday and meeting you. Loved the book.
Just read your book… I really enjoyed it. Keep writing.
Thank you, Lynn!
Ahhh- I wish I knew there was a book signing! I live in Baltimore County and just finished reading your book. Very entertaining and heartfelt. We have dreams of raising chickens, but don’t have enough yard space where we are now. Maybe one day!
That couple chatting with you at the book signing table is my aunt and uncle…imagine my surprise! Jessie, your mom-in-law is my god-mother and my brothers and sister and I grew up hanging out with Jake and his siblings. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog. I also just added your book to my kindle and am looking forward to devouring it when I go home tonight!
Hi Amy Mo: Wonderful! Can’t wait to hear what you think!
