Well, it appears our debeaked birds are starting to come around because Jake and June discovered the very first egg the other night.
We were all so excited we had to take a picture of it (spot the egg in the above photo!). And it came just in time; right when Jake was in the middle of baking June’s birthday cupcakes and discovered we were all out of eggs.

They knew you worried and cared about them so they came through, right in time. Where did they lay that egg? It appears to be in a knot hole in a tree. Not only how did they get it in there but how did Jake and June discover it there? It was karma!
love this!
we have ducks on the farm at work and when i asked sam why he doesn’t collect the eggs he told me it was because we would literally have to go on an egghunt every day. he’s never gotten them to lay in boxes.
Why is the egg in the tree? Are these chickens 100% free range?
How the heck did they lay that egg IN a tree? That is crazy, but just in time!
Our hens just started laying, and have found some unique places too. I hope mine stay out of the tree’s though, or i’ll never find the eggs!
