I am so glad we made the decision to put June in Montessori. She really seems to love it. Her teachers are so nice and attentive and caring. June is all smiles in the morning when I drop her off. She is still smiling when I pick her up. Everyday her teacher sends parents a fun PDF with photos of the childrens’ activity — the songs they sang, the books they read, the nature walks they took, the skills they’re learning (June is quite the florist, who knew?). Best of all, enrolling her in preschool was an excuse for her mom to buy her some cool new stuff, like this fierce toddler backpack from my new favorite kids’ shop Hanna Andersson (I can’t wait for her feet to big enough to fit into these sweet clogs.)
All fired up for preschool

AHH!! Those clogs are ADORABLE! Love them! Rock ‘em June!
–Aunt Laura
So glad she’s loving school. A word of experience-based advise: those clogs are adorable, but make the most ungodly racket imaginable.
And thank you Jen for helping us make the decision. Good to know about the clogs. The price I am willing to pay for fashion.
advice, not advise…
Look at her – taking the first steps into a new chapter of her life. It brings back fond memories of my sons doing the same thing. Jessie, Jake – you will never regret having June attend pre-school – down the road and for years to come it will show the wisdom of your decision. I applaud and greatly respect your decision. Well done.
I think it’s you who really wants to wear those clogs…
You got me! Ha ha!
this is such an AWESOME photo. i love it! (even including the socks with the water shoes combo?…;)) my little almost-4-year-old cousin has a very similar backpack but with a mouse and a wedge of cheese as the zipper pull. these animal packs seem to be THE backpack to have amongst the younger set:) i’m so glad june has taken to flowers~
THank you, Courtney May. She’s wearing Keens with socks because the Keens are new and they give her blisters, poor thing. It’s not a look I usually endorse but I had to make an exception this time!
