A fair number of readers have been asking me about Solha. I feel like I owe you guys an explanation as to why I’ve kept mum about her these past few months.
The reason I’ve held off blogging about this little dog is because I’m developing a book about her. The story surrounding her rescue, transport and adjustment to life in the United States, and the impact she’s had on my family these past six months, has been so interesting, compelling and weird that I think it will make a really wonderful and riveting read. I didn’t want to give up the goods prematurely because I’m of the mind that “blogs to books,” in which old posts are essentially collated into book form, are sloppy and choppy and redundant and a total rip off to the reader!
I could say a lot more about this — a whole book’s worth! — but it’s probably wise to keep quiet about the details of the project until it officially gets off the ground.
Thank you for asking about her at all! Makes me certain beyond doubt there is a great read here.

Thank you so much, Monika!
From the looks of her pictures Solha appears just fine. I will be buying Solha’s Story when it gets published.
That’s great news! I’ve noticed the lack of Solha news this summer, and I’ve been wondering how Solha has been doing in her new home. This is a great idea for a book – can’t wait
Agreed – am looking forward to it, and know a lot of dog people that would appreciate it as a gift. I was relieved to see her in that picture with June the other day, given her prior escape-artist ways!
Hooray! Turkey dog and I have been wondering the same. Can’t wait to read it and glad she’s ok!
Love the picture! We can see she’s doing fine… receiving blessings and giving them, too.
Funny, I was just thinking about Sohla yesterday, particularly hoping that she hadn’t escaped, jumping up over a horse stall, or Houdini-ing her way out of a dog crate. Glad she’s safe and that you’re creative juices are flowing.
PS – love the way the light’s shining down on her like an angel, in that photo.
I’ve been waiting for a book about Solha.Thank you for letting us know.Keep us up on how the book is going.
Children’s book? adult read? or both?
Yay! I was hoping a Solha book would come someday! I can’t wait!
Awesome! Can’t wait!
Miss Solha has the best dog tail ever, so no doubt the book will be the best dog tale ever.
Hyuck, hyuck! Good one, Becca!
Yay! I cant wait for the book on her! It is such a great story with a happy ending!
looks like it may make a heartwarming “Halmark” made for tv movie
