June’s first fall festival

by Jessie K on September 24, 2012

June went to her first fall festival at Boxerwood Gardens this weekend.

Kids made crafts. Here, June’s very own homemade bug stamp (she didn’t make it…someone else did).

Homemade apple doughnuts! June snarfed down five of these babies, plus two cookies. What can I say, the doughnuts were small.

My favorite part of the festival was the gorgeous dance performance. Look at these lovelies in their finery! So ethereal.

I asked June if she wanted to join in the revelry and this is the look she gave me. Too shy!  Maybe next year.

Hey.. I sympathize with her.. I am not much of a “joiner” either!

On a side note.. I wanted to say “thank you” for your post on being fit the other day. You motivated me to go out and get a new mountain bike.. and I have been enjoying rides with my dog after work.. not really far or anything yet.. just a few miles.. but better than “nothing”. I used to mountain bike a lot.. and I did enjoy it.. so I figured since I already own 65 acres with trails.. that I might as well take advantage of the playground in my own back yard!.. the dog likes it too. I know days are getting shorter.. but I figure I will have time for a ride for a good while yet.. I can always feed the animals after dark.. the yamaha has lights:)

Wow, you made my day, Sarina. Thanks for the feedback. And 65 acres with trails sounds pretty much like paradise. Happy riding.

Just wait Jessie! In a couple of years you won’t be able to keep June from joining the dancers.
