Toddler shoe watch: Saddle shoes

by Jessie K on October 11, 2012

I love the saddle shoe trend.  (I know it’s been around for awhile but fashion hits more slowly among us chicken farmers.)

I would love to get myself a pair, but I am of the opinion that the iconic black on whites don’t look right on those of us over the age of 35. Looks a little grasping.

Thankfully, there are many amazing age appropriate selects to choose from.

No such style restrictions exist for the under 3 crowd, however. Check out June’s new saddle shoes here. (They’re Vans!)

See previous toddler shoe watches here and here.

A trend? My first school shoes in 1957 were what were then called saddle oxfords.

We’ll call it “saddle shoe resurgence” then! ;-)

In the early 1990s, when I was in the last year if high school/first years of college, I had high heeled, navy and white, saddle shoes. Very classy. I’d love to have them again.

The Catholic girls here still wear these for 12 long years…but funny, even after graduation, it seems impossible to part with them!
