The older I get, the more I love October. The colors, the flavors, the chill in the air.
I think I love it so much precisely because I am getting older. October to me symbolizes age and wisdom and experience–the passage of time, a season of reflection before the dormancy of winter and the rebirth of spring.
These leaves look like confetti on the ground; a celebration of maturity. Feels good to be a grown-up.

October is my favorite month, too. So much so that I always have the fall cleaning finished in September, the better to have time to enjoy October! Here in Arkansas, it is not only beautiful, but a blessed relief from summer. Fall clothes, fall cooking, beautiful scenery, crisp air—it’s all good.
What a wonderful way to describe October! Age wisdom and experience, I’d never thought of it quite that way. October has always reminded me of the circle of life, the constant renewal and death that surrounds us in everything.
I’m with you! I love October
This one has been a little bad to me, but what can you do!? I love all the things you do about it. Now excuse me while I go take a drive down Skyline.
Thank you so much for the beautiful photos…and for reminding me that, like Anne of Green Gables, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” And now that you’re managing your time so efficiently, you’ll be able to enjoy the rest of this glorious month — go out with June and kick up some leaves!
[big thumbs up]!
