I’ve been seeing black cats all over the place this week. We must be getting close to Halloween.
These colors make me pine for a cup of hot cider…we’re going to a cider press party this weekend! YES!

Coconut ice cream studded with chocolate from one of my favorite places to eat in Roanoke, VA — Pop’s Soda Bar & Ice Cream (I couldn’t find a website).
June playing “the slots” at the laundromat.

Just read your article in November Ladies Home Journal.
The group family picture is great. Most children are just enraputed with animals BUT your June is so cute “eyeballing” her father. She has those eyes rolled over watching him and showing her dimples. She looks at him like he is the greatest thing she ever saw.
He IS the greatest thing she ever saw. Thank you for the feedback, Leah.
Great photos, the original big wheel seems much more fun that the current model being sold.
you guys don’t have a washer and dryer! you really are ‘roughing it,’ eh? (yes, i’m canadian, how could you tell?)
Girl, please. What do you think I am? Canadian? Ha ha. (I actually had to wash a comforter that was way too big for our machine at home.)
I saw the title and hoped you had posted some good adult-beverage recipes – it’s been a tough week up at the ol’ university. One student has frustrated and generally pissed off our entire dept enough to make us want to cancel the rest of the week’s classes and just bar-hop through to the weekend. Probably better to crack some big grins at your photos instead. Thanks!
Sorry you’re having a bad week. Throw that slacker out of class. If not, I’m going to have some good booze posts coming up; look out for it.
Look at those biceps on that girl with the ice cream. I want those! And the pictures of June are really adorable.
Could you possibly post a link to the LHJ article? Thanks.
I think it’s a shadow. Here’s the link: http://www.lhj.com/relationships/family/pets/military-family-afghanistan-dog-adoption/
Ya gotta go to Richee Freeze when you’re in Roanoke again! And Papa D’s if it’s still open. Man I miss that stuff. And OMG biscuits and gravy at The Roanoker, because sweet lord, those biscuits.
Noted! Thanks for the recommendations.
Ahh, Pops! I used to live in that neighborhood and walked there all the time. Just moved to Richmond in late July and I miss it!
It’s definitely an original. They make the best homemade sodas.
