That is the highlight of the end of autumn. I would let the kids play in the leaves as long as they promised to leave a mess so I could rake. Raking is my favorite outdoor chore.
I’m sorry but I must ask this. When asked what breed Solha is, do you say Afgan Hound? Being new to leaves she looked a little wary until June joined her, then she smiled. She has learned so many new exciting things since she found Jake and was adopted.
Make no mistake: Solha wanted no part of the leaf adventure, but Jake — a.k.a. Cesar Milan of the south — made her do it, admonishing her with vocal cues when she tried to flee. We don’t really know what her breed is, but a blog reader once pointed out that she looks at least part Akbash, a livestock guarding dog known for its independence/intellect.
Who had the most fun? June? Shola? Jake? or Jessie taking the pictures? What a great way to spend a sunny afternoon!! The picture of June in the leaves is precious (Number 5) – along with the one of her looking into the pumpkin. The two together would make a lovely display Jessie.
You just wrote you first graphic mini novel! Seriously it’d make a cute kids book, not to mention that it’s totally adorable and just about made me tear up. Thanks for sharing!

Well, in that case, maybe I can persuade you to come over and rake ours?
Awesome! That dog totally looks like she’s smiling.
Oh she is, for sure.
How cute is that….sweet!
What a beautiful way to start my week! That was beautiful — thank you!!!!!

And how many ticks did you pull off them?
They are SO bad up here! They both look SO happy!
I didn’t even think to check for ticks.

Ha, ha, I think June had the most fun, by far. Solha: Not so much.
Absolutely loved this, thanks for sharing!
These are AMAZING!! Love, love, love!

My pleasure, Susan!
Best. Story. Ever. Our friends here in Portland have an Akbash – beautiful dog, but he’s huge! Practically a small pony.
I didn’t even notice it was June until her 4th picture…. knew Solha’s true feelings by his 4th, LOL. Great pictures!
