Cookies and chai
June made her first batch of cookies this weekend.
With absolutely no help from dad whatsoever. Nope. No help from dad.
Nothing pairs better with chocolate chip cookies on a cold December day than homemade chai.
My friend Chin of Soothing Herbals Apothecary makes THE BEST, freshest chai blend I have ever tasted. If there’s a chai lover in your life, this tea blend would make a great, last minute gift.
She uses whole herbs and spices…no powder here.
To make, simmer the spices in water for 20 minutes. Strain and add dark brown sugar or honey (I’m partial to the dark brown sugar). To serve, pour in a mug and stir in equal parts heated milk; it’s Christmas in a mug.

We spent the rest of the afternoon (okay, it was really more like 20 minutes) listening to Christmas music and coloring. And consuming lots and lots of cookies and chai.
