Were it not for the seasonal crafting craziness over at June’s Montessori, I don’t think I’d ever been fully conscious of just how festive February is. There are more holidays this month than just about any other.
First up, we had Groundhog Day (February 2):
The Groundhog pokes his head out of the “dirt.”
Then we celebrated Chinese New Year (February 10):
Next up, Mardi Gras (Feb. 12):
June inspects her gaudy crown festooned with “jewels,” beads and a specter featuring a court jester.
And finally, the creme de la creme of February festivities, Valentine’s Day:
We bought Mickey Mouse skateboard Valentines (her selection, not mine) to hand out to June’s classmates. I haven’t bought Valentines since I was a kid!
And Jake made special Valentine cookies for June to share with her preschool pals.
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
(I wonder if her class will craft anything for President’s Day?)

The groundhog is priceless. I love his face and the way he pops up and down. The dragon mask is beyond cool. June is very blessed. Not too many fathers get so involved in their child’s daily activities. Moms do these things but dads are so often MIA. Jake seems to thrive on his participation. You have a beautiful loving family.
maybe they will make Abe Lincoln hats or George Washington beards? You never know what those clever and crafty teachers will come up with.
Montessori schools are always so up on things, hopefully they’ll include Black History month, too.
Don’t you just love June’s little hands and the concentration as she works on her crown!
