Our little piece of paradise

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASee that post right there? Jake is finally able to fence our eight acre property to make way for horses! Okay, make that, A horse. And a donkey too. Maybe a few pigs. And of course an army of chickens.

IMG_4598And now that the weather is warming up again, we can look forward to finally finishing the barn. It’s going to be a crazy busy spring around here!  I am looking forward to it.

Enjoy your weekend.

Yeah! Yeah for you! Congratulations. We just had piglets born to our Tamworth sow and Berkshire boar and they are so adorable! You will love your pigs!

Just a couple of cautions on the pigs and donkey ideas.

1. Pigs can be mean.. I had a pig that tried to lunge at me and eat my face off (she was the first to be processed by the way). Make sure that June can’t possibly get into the area where the pigs might be kept.

2. Donkeys can HATE dogs.. they can kill or go after them pretty hard.. so watch solhja to.

I‘ve never heard of a mean pig. A mean rooster, yes. A mean horse, yes, but never a PO’d pig. Thanks for the tip, Sarina!
