When my dogs are behaving thusly, I usually just end up getting in the dog bed with them. Like I just did, about 15 minutes ago. Now I need to go take a shower and wash the dog slobber off of my face. Totally worth it, though.
So funny you say that. My husband routinely falls asleep on the hardwood floor, his head resting on the dogbed with either Cowboy or Sunnie. I used to try to rouse him, I almost felt bad because I thought he’d wake up feeling achy from slumbering on the floor, but now I don’t bother. He seems to enjoy the dog bed naps, and it allows me to read later into the night without worrying the light from my bedside lamp is disturbing him. You and Jake must be kindred spirits.
