Last night’s Book Swap & Trade was a big success, though I’m surprised more people didn’t show up! Since who (I assumed) can turn down the opportunity to pick up an amazing book club worthy book for FREE at a book store? The people who did show up — and there were a few of them — donated all kinds of interesting, popular thought-provoking reads, the surplus of which will be donated to both Lisa’s House and the Rockbridge County Jail. I donated Cheryl Strayed’s Wild and Thea Goodman’s The Sunshine When She’s Gone, two very fine reads. I picked up Amor Towles’ Rules of Civility, which I’m dying to read! It was such a pleasure to stand around chatting with fellow readers while helping ourselves to snacks and treats donated by local businesses.
Thank you, Meg from Cheese to You for donating such yummy cheese — she has to best cheese selection evah! — and to the Southern Inn for their delicious artichoke dip, plus all the other vendors who donated. And big thanks to Anna-Lisa from Books & Co Toys Too for hosting the event.
