I was wandering around a thrift store the other day when this lamp caught my eye (and, yes, you could say I have a thing for lamps). I thought it looked very familiar.
It’s almost identical to this Jonathan Adler Nelson lamp, which retails for the low, low, totally not at all insane price of $395.
The knock-off lacked a price tag but there was a sign that said everything in the booth in which it was displayed was 50 percent off. I brought the lamp up to the front to ask how much it was. The shopkeeper, who was on the phone, waved me off and said he had “no idea” and that he was “real busy right now.” There were about three people in the store.
I brought the lamp back to its booth and left it there. I don’t think I’m going to buy it, so if you’re in the Lexington area and want a Jonathan Adler lamp knock off for 50 percent off and don’t mind navigating the frenetic pace of small town commerce, email me and I’ll let you know where to find it.
