I was invited to an informal lunch over the weekend hosted by local NPR reporter-slash-superstar Martha Woodruff (I swear, this woman knows everyone….and her first book publishes this August!) to tout NPR National Arts Reporter Neda Ulaby who was in the area giving a talk at James Madison University for WMRA.
It was so great to link up with all sorts of interesting women in this area involved in the arts. I met writers, professors, bloggers, book fair organizers….it was so great to soak up these ladies’ creative vibes.
I ran into “chicken whisperer” and fellow Lexington author Pat Foreman, author of the awesome chicken book City Chicks. Pat brought along her sidekick “Oprah Hen-free,” who turned out to be the star of the lunch. People flocked around her almost more than they did Neda. (Man, I love a good chicken pun.)
