My egg consumption over the Christmas weekend, spent up in glorious, egg-friendly Baltimore, where Jake’s family lives:
Day 12 (Christmas Eve): Jake’s homemade eggnog
(confession: I only took a sip because I can’t stand eggnog. It’s too eggy, creamy and boozy for my liking. Jake made a whole gallon of the stuff. His recipe contained a dozen eggs, 4 cups of bourbon, a pound of powdered sugar and 8 cups of cream. I swear he drank a half a gallon of the stuff over the course of the weekend.)
Day 13 (Christmas day): Giganto slice of Jake’s homemade vanilla cream pie
Day 14 (Jake’s sister’s birthday): Omelet with cheddar and a huge slice of red velvet cake (there’s gotta be eggs in the cake, right?)
Day 15 (during the drive home from Baltimore): A vegetarian sandwich from Subway featuring my faves: pickles, jalapenos, mustard, olives, red onions and a chopped-up hard-boiled egg (aka the acid-reflux special–mmmm)
It’s a wonder my pants still fit.

We went through those eggs you brought us in about a week. Wish I could get more more them. It’s great knowing where food comes from.
